Bangor Carnegie Yarnspinners with Bea Ferguson
Bea Ferguson’s early career was as a stage manager in various theatres, including The Royal Shakespeare Company, then as a floor manager for BBC television drama. The BBC led to a job in Scotland, where she met and married a Scot and later retrained for children’s librarianship. It was then she met Liz Weir and became passionate about storytelling.
Bea’s main interest has been in storytelling in education where she has told in nurseries, primary and secondary schools and was Storyteller in Residence in two North Lanarkshire High Schools for three years. She has also worked extensively with residents in care homes and with dementia groups.
She has given more workshops than she cares to remember and has told at festivals, in tents, round campfires and now over Zoom – in fact anywhere where people will listen.
